Talented Food Runner needed for a new elite downtown Chicago restaurant and hotel. SMASHotels has set its sights high on competing with some of Chicago's most elite restaurants, when it opens its new, ground up, one-of-kind, Hotel EMC2, and its marquee restaurant, the Albert. Brandon Brumback has been named Executive Chef, where his culinary pedigree includes: Roister, The French Laundry, Fat Duck, Blackbird, Grace and GreenRiver.The new hotel and restaurant celebrates a creative class of consumers seeking artistically curated travel, dining and hospitality experiences. This unique property is located in the heart of the Chicago's Magnificent Mile, and is being developed by the creator of theWit Hotel. Hotel EMC2 is a member of Marriott's elite luxury Autograph Collection Hotel.
Responsibilities will include:

JOB DESCRIPTION: 1. Ensure that the all food ordered by the customers reaches their tables at the desired temperature and in a highly presentable manner. Food must be timed and coursed appropriately. All food should be announced upon delivery to guests. 2. Ensures that each course delivered to a table is complete. 3. Adheres to all standard steps of service as recommended by department. 4. Properly garnish the food items before delivering to the table. 5. Place dishes on the table in front of the correct guest and according to service standards. 6. May be responsible for serving beverages. 7. Assists servers wherever necessary to create a positive dining experience for all guests. 8. Adheres to all company and department procedures, policies and expectations and quality standards. QUALIFICATIONS:• Minimum one year’s food service or related work required.• Strong F&B knowledge is preferred. • Requires knowledge or the ability to operate computer equipment and the reservations system.• Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.• Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and/or walking with or without reasonable accommodation.• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. frequently.• Must be able to prioritize and multi-task.• Communicate in the primary language of the hotel.• Able to work: Holidays, weekends and any day/shift.
