SMASHotels is seeking a talented Overnight Luggage Attendant to join our one-of-a-kind luxury, lifestyle hotel that celebrates a creative class of consumers seeking artistically curated travel, dining and hospitality experiences. This unique property currently under construction and located in the heart of the Chicago's Magnificent Mile, is being developed by the creators of famed theWit Hotel in Chicago's Loop and scheduled to open in April 2017. It will be a member of Marriott's elite luxury Autograph Collection® Hotel.
Responsibilities will include:

JOB SUMMARY:Assist guests with luggage, packages, and special requests. Transport guests in hotel shuttle in a timely and safe manner where applicable. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate guests` service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; inform guests about hotel facility locations and hours of operations; thank guests with genuine appreciation.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Represent the hotel in a positive manner at all times.• Provide the highest quality of service to ensure a positive experience for all guests. • Load and unload luggage carts and assist guests with the tagging, storing and retrieving of luggage. • Handle all guests' luggage with care.• Work closely with Valet to ensure a smooth arrival and departure experience for all guests. • Assist Door Attendant with opening vehicle and hotel doors and greet arriving and departing guests along with taxis and other transportation needs when busy. • Respond to guest questions and give accurate information on local attractions, events and daily activities in the hotel.• Be aware of VIP and repeat guests; greet them by name whenever possible.• Communicate with the Front Desk to ensure quick and efficient guest check-ins. • Deliver messages and/or packages to guests at their request in a timely manner.• Utilize hotel communication device in a professional manner in order to better serve guests effectively and in a timely manner.• Maintain a neat and presentable lobby and hotel entrance at all times.• Exemplify the hotel's Standard Code of Conduct and all other regulations established by management and Employee Handbook.QUALIFICATIONS:• At least 1 year of experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.• Be able to lift up to 100 pounds and push/pull a cart weighing up to 350 pounds.• Ability to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists.• Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and/or walking with or without reasonable accommodation.• Show off the proper uniform/dress at all times and be well groomed.• Communicate in the primary language of the hotel.• Able to work: Holidays, weekends and any day/shift.
