SMASHotels is seeking a talented Door Attendant to join our one-of-a-kind luxury, lifestyle hotel that celebrates a creative class of consumers seeking artistically curated travel, dining and hospitality experiences. This unique property currently under construction and located in the heart of the Chicago's Magnificent Mile, is being developed by the creators of famed theWit Hotel in Chicago's Loop and scheduled to open in April 2017. It will be a member of Marriott's elite luxury Autograph Collection® Hotel.
Responsibilities will include:

JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for genuinely caring about our guest; assisting with arrivals and departures, making strong emotional connections by providing a guest centric service at all times. To provide efficient, prompt and courteous assistance with luggage, rooming and guest relations to guests under the direction of the Front Office Managers, in line with the Hotel EMC2 service standards.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Maintain a professional image at all times that falls within the hotel and company guidelines for appearance and dress.• Communicate effectively and genuinely with guests, team members and other departments. • Become informed of events/functions in the hotel during shifts.• Assist guests with cabs and other transportation requirements.• Open vehicle and hotel doors and greet arriving and departing guests.• Be aware of VIP and repeat guests; greet them by name.• Perform other duties as requested by management.• Work closely with Valet to ensure a smooth arrival and departure experience for all guests. QUALIFICATIONS:• At least 1 year of experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.• Be able to lift up to 100 pounds and push/pull a cart weighing up to 350 pounds.• Ability to stand during entire shift.• Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.• Communicate in the primary language of the hotel.• Able to work: Holidays, weekends and any day/shift.
