Responsibilities will include:

JOB SUMMARY:Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc. Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc. Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trashRESPONSIBILITIES:• Prepare all cold food items for buffet, banquet and restaurant use according to standard recipes.• Visually inspect appearance of all cold food for proper color combination and overall presentation to maintain appeal.• Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items for production in work stations.• Check and control proper storage of all food items in refrigerators and freezers to maintain product freshness.• Learn menus, recipes, preparation and presentation.• Support any position in the Kitchen that is in need of help.• Maintain clean and sanitary environment with knowledge of proper handling, storage, and sanitation.• Know the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment.• Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid possible injury to self or other employees.QUALIFICATIONS:• One year Michelin Starred or equal Culinary experience required.• Hotel or a related field preferred.• Food Handler Certified required.• Ability to communicate orally and in written form, in English.• Knowledge of common food allergens and their substitutes.• Ability to stand during entire shift.• Ability to withstand temperature variations both hot and cold.• Knowledge of basic sanitary guidelines.• Knowledge of menus and the preparation required, according to hotel standards.• Knowledge of herbs and spices and proper use of each.• Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds with ease.• Able to work: Holidays, weekends and any day/shift.• Able to be coached by our Culinary management team.• Have a positive attitude.
