SMASHotels is seeking a talented House Person to join our one-of-a-kind luxury, lifestyle hotel that celebrates a creative class of consumers seeking artistically curated travel, dining and hospitality experiences. This unique property currently under construction and located in the heart of the Chicago's Magnificent Mile, is being developed by the creators of famed theWit Hotel in Chicago's Loop and scheduled to open in April 2017. It will be a member of Marriott's elite luxury Autograph Collection® Hotel.
Responsibilities will include:

JOB SUMMARY:Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments. Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms. Performs any combination of the following tasks to maintain guestrooms, working areas, and the hotel premises in general in a clean and orderly manner.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Represent the hotel in a positive manner at all times.• Inspect all public areas to ensure cleanliness standards have been met; reports any problem areas to supervisor.• Assist room attendant with heavy items such as mattresses and soiled linens. Delivers linens and necessary supplies to room attendants.• Clean stairways throughout the hotel.• Collect trash throughout guest floors including room attendants' carts, vending and room service areas.• Sort all linen from chute into bins.• Respond to guest requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies (e.g. linens, cots, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner.• Report missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.• Must be able to work independently and as a team player.QUALIFICATIONS:• Previous houseman or janitorial experience required.• Required to stand and be on your feet for 8 hours, lift and/or push 50-100 pounds.• Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and/or walking with or without reasonable accommodation.• Show off the proper uniform/dress at all times and be well groomed.• Communicate in the primary language of the hotel.• Able to work: Holidays, weekends and any day/shift.
