SMASHotels is seeking a talented Room Attendant to join our one-of-a-kind luxury, lifestyle hotel that celebrates a creative class of consumers seeking artistically curated travel, dining and hospitality experiences. This unique property currently under construction and located in the heart of the Chicago's Magnificent Mile, is being developed by the creators of famed theWit Hotel in Chicago's Loop and scheduled to open in Spring 2017. It will be a member of Marriott's elite luxury Autograph Collection® Hotel.
Responsibilities will include:
JOB SUMMARY:Responsible to ensure that standards of cleanliness in assigned guest rooms are achieved and maintained on a consistent basis to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction in cleanliness and service within established time limitations.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:• Clean, dust, polish and vacuum to make sure guest rooms and bathrooms meet hotel standards.• Change linens, make beds, and clean the bathroom.• Restock all guest room supplies, like soap and shampoo.• Organize your linen closet, restock your cart, and get ready for the next day, before your shift ends each day.• Greet guests that you encounter during your shift with a friendly smile.• Monitor and handle guest complaints following guest services training procedures and ensure guest satisfaction, immediately reporting any complaints to the supervisor.• Return and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Security Office• Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.• Promote and support effective departmental and hotel communication through varies technical devices.• Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.• Perform other duties as requested by management.QUALIFICATIONS:• Previous Housekeeping experience preferred.• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods.• Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials.• Experience using highly technical communication and computer devices.• Must be able to stand, stoop and bend for long periods of time during the day.• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and be able to walk for extended periods of time.• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.• Excellent communication and organizational skills.• Communicate in the primary language of the hotel.• Able to work: Holidays, weekends and any day/shift.
